The rededication ceremony was held at the recently fenced Jewish cemetery in Ceadîr-Lunga, Moldova

This burial site was protected by the ESJF with the financial support of the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office) and in cooperation with the Jewish Community of Moldova and the Municipality of Ceadîr-Lunga.

The official rededication ceremony was attended by Magdalena Poirier, Head of the Culture and Media Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Moldova (Deutsche Botschaft Chişinău; Yoram Elron, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Moldova (Israel in Moldova; Alexander Bilinkis, President of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova; Anatoliy Topal, Mayor of Ceadîr-Lunga; Marina Anukov, Head of the Israeli Cultural Center “Nativ” in Moldova and ESJF Project Monitor Rabbi Ram Moshe Ra’avad.

The ceremony was combined with an educational event for the residents of Ceadîr-Lunga. Dr. Roman Rabinovich, Coordinator of the Museum of the History of the Jews of Orhei, and Stepanida Stamova, Director of the Ethnographic Museum of Ceadîr-Lunga, gave a lecture on the history of the Jewish community in Moldova and the importance of preserving Jewish cemeteries.
