The educational event took place in the Czech town of Slavkov u Brna, where ESJF had previously restored the fence around the Jewish cemetery.
The lecture on the history of the Jewish community was combined with a workshop on reading Hebrew inscriptions on tombstones and identifying Jewish symbols.
A total of 40 participants attended, many of whom were members of the local Scout organization accompanied by adult family members, while 10 participants came to Slavkov from Brno.
This ESJF event was led by historian Marek Lauermann, organized in cooperation with Židovské památky v Česku (Jewish heritage in Czechia), and made possible thanks to the financial support of the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office of Germany).
