ESJF and Slovak Jewish community carrying out cleaning work at several Jewish cemeteries.
As part of our regular maintenance efforts alongside our local partners, UZZNO, the Federation of Jewish Communities in Slovakia (Židia na Slovensku), the burial sites in Veľký Šariš, Cerová, Hurbanovo, Pribeta, and Kuchyňa have undergone cleaning work.
The Jewish cemeteries in these towns were fenced by the ESJF in previous years with the financial support of the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office) and our private donors.
While fencing the cemetery is a key element of its protection, keeping the site clean and well-maintained is equally important. It demonstrates respect for the cemetery and shows the public that it is being cared for, not forgotten.
