We completed the fencing of the fifth Jewish cemetery in Serbia this year

The ESJF has installed a new metal fence around the Budisava Jewish cemetery in the Vojvodina region. This burial site lies right next to a cornfield, and without clear boundaries, it was at real risk of being plowed and converted into farmland.

Other Jewish cemeteries fenced in Serbia this year include those in Zmajevo, Đurđevo, Kać, and Savino Selo. Our work continues in the country, with more sites planned to be fenced in 2025.

All these fencing projects were funded by the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office) and carried out in cooperation with the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia and our country coordinator, Ladislav Trajer.
