The first day of the two-day international educational seminar dedicated to the preservation, protection, and promotion of Jewish heritage as an integral part of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova has successfully concluded.
The seminar was opened by Magdalena Poirier, Head of the Culture Section and First Secretary for Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Moldova; Marina Anukov, First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Moldova and Head of Nativ – the Israeli Cultural Centre in Moldova; and Dr. Aliona Grossu, Director of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova.
The event brought together tour guides, museum professionals, cultural heritage specialists from local municipalities, historians, and local government representatives from across Moldova, with a particular focus on localities where ESJF has previously installed protective fences around Jewish cemeteries. Among the participants were the mayors of Telenești, Edineț, Rîșcani, and Volintiri, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Rezina.
The seminar is organised by ESJF in cooperation with the Jewish community of the Republic of Moldova, with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office.
