Throughout 2025, the ESJF is expanding its operations in Serbia, already fencing several Jewish cemeteries and conducting surveys across the country.
The Jewish cemetery in Zmajevo — where we have just installed a new metal fence — preserves more than a dozen tombstones and fragments, the oldest dating back to 1863.
The fencing project at the Zmajevo Jewish cemetery was funded by the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office) and made possible with the help of our partners at the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia, especially our country coordinator, Ladislav Trajer.
