The ESJF has fenced the Jewish cemetery in Đurđevo, Serbia. Just a week ago, we announced that fencing work had begun there, and today we’re pleased to report that the Đurđevo Jewish cemetery is now fully demarcated and protected by a new metal fence.
The site now returns to its original purpose: a place of sanctity and remembrance, honoring not only centuries of Jewish community life but also bearing witness to the destruction of these communities in the Shoah.
This fencing project was funded by the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office) and made possible with the help of our partners at the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia, especially our country coordinator, Ladislav Trajer.
