The ESJF has conducted the most comprehensive report on Jewish cemeteries in Slovakia

This report, compiled from survey material collected by ESJF surveyors between 2019 and 2025, is the most comprehensive resource available, providing accurate information on the locations of all 745 known Jewish cemeteries in Slovakia and their current state of preservation and protection.

Covering both existing and destroyed sites, the report was prepared by Kateryna Malakhova, ESJF Director of Historical Research.

This work began with funding from the European Commission as part of an EU pilot project and was completed with the generous support of private donors. We wish to thank the Auswärtiges AmtGerman Federal Foreign Office for its continued support of the work of the ESJF and the Židia na Slovensku (Federation of Jewish Communities of Slovakia)for its strong cooperation and assistance in the completion of this national survey.
