Historical overview

The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. It first appears on Russian maps of the region from the 1860s and, later, a map from 1941. The oldest preserved matzeva is dated to the early 19th century. As such, it can be assumed the cemetery already existed in that era.
