Historical overview
There were two Jewish cemeteries in Tiszaadony. This cemetery was established as early as 1863, since it appears on the cadastral map of that year. It was demolished and built over at an unknown time.
According to census data, 32 Jews lived in Tiszaadony in 1840 and 40 in 1880. In 1910 the Jewish population peaked at 87. In the following decades, the Jewish population decreased: 63 Jews lived in the village in 1920, 48 in 1930, and 47 in 1941. According to the Yad Vashem database, about 48 Jews from Tiszaadony were murdered in the Holocaust.
