Historical overview
The Jewish cemetery in Sulechów is located about 1.2 km south-west of the town center, in the area currently occupied by properties at ul. Piaskowa. Date of foundation unknown, probably it was created in the nineteenth century. There is no further information about the history of the object. It is known that the cemetery was situated on a small, partially wooded hill. A pre-funeral home was built at the entrance. On March 10, 1961, the Minister of Municipal Economy, in response to the resolution of the Presidium of the Municipal National Council in Sulechów, issued decision no. UZ-e / 14/6/59 on the closure of the cemetery.
