Historical overview

The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. As it appears on Russian and Polish maps of the region from 1910 and 1941, respectively, it can be inferred the cemetery already existed in the early 20th century. The majority of the cemetery was demolished during the Soviet era. According to locals, 10 years ago there were still tombstones on the site, but today no visible traces of the cemetery or its boundaries remain.
