Historical overview
The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. However, given the dates of the preserved matzevot and the fact it can be found marked on an Austro-Hungarian map of the region from the 1880s, it can be inferred it already existed in the 19th century. According to the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAGJS), the site contained between 20 and 100 tombstones dating between the 19th and 20th centuries in 2009.
