The Jewish cemetery of Márokpapi was established as early as 1866, since it appears on the cadastral map of that year. It was demolished at an unknown time.
According to census data, 7 Jews lived in Márokpapi in 1840. The population peaked at 54 in 1880, and gradually decreased in the following decades. 50 Jews lived in Márokpapi in 1910, 46 in 1920, 18 in 1930, and 17 in 1941. According to the Yad Vashem database, about 15 Jews from Márokpapi were murdered in the Holocaust.
