Historical overview

The oldest Jewish cemetery in Lidzbark Warmiński likely was established around the late 18th to early 19th centuries, situated approximately 1 km south of the city center along the road to the Gallows Gate (Galgentor), now an extension of Leśna Street. Its usage likely ceased in the mid-19th century with the opening of a new necropolis. Regrettably, no visible remnants of the cemetery remain on the grounds today.
