Historical overview

The Jews were mostly engaged in petty trade. In the interwar period, timber was traded on a larger scale by the merchants B. Lewkowicz and I. Szpichler. In 1938, the community property located in Kikół was valued: the cemetery - 200 zlotys, the synagogue - 4,000 zlotys, the ritual bath - 600 zlotys, the lodging house for poor Jewish travellers - 800 zlotys. The extermination of the Lubicz community took place in 1939. The Jews of Kikół were displaced even in the fall of 1939. A larger group found themselves in the Warsaw ghetto in 1940. Traces of Jewish presence in Kikół were erased. The synagogue and the cemetery were destroyed.
