The exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. Given the only preserved tombstone dates to 1894, it can be inferred the cemetery already existed in the late 19th century. On Austro-Hungarian maps of the region from the 1860s and 1880s, there is a cemetery marked close to this site. However, it is unclear whether the cemetery on the map is the Jewish or the Christian one.
