Historical overview
The Jewish cemetery of Győrtelek was in use as early as 1892, since it appears on the cadastral map of that year. Today, it is part of the local municipal cemetery. Jews from Géberjén were also possibly buried in the cemetery.
According to census records, 15 Jews lived in Győrtelek in 1840. In 1880, the Jewish population reached its peak at 56 individuals. 23 Jews were registered as living in the settlement in 1910, 15 in 1920, 28 in 1930, and 24 in 1941. Around 50 Jews from Győrtelek were killed in the Holocaust.
