Historical overview
In the late 19th century the Jewish community in Inowrocław founded its own new graveyard that was situated on current Marcinkowskiego Street, right next to the evangelical cemetery. The total surface area of the Jewish cemetery equaled 20,400 sq meters. At the entrance building holding a funeral parlor, coach house and gravedigger’s room. The first funeral, that of rabbi Michael Karinger, was held on December 26, 1886. Also that necropolis was devastated by Nazis during occupation.
