Historical overview

Presumably, the Jewish cemetery in Chomonyn was established in the 19th century. According to epigraphic data, it already existed in 1898. The cemetery was presumably used during WWII, as evidenced by the latest preserved gravestone, which dates to 1944.

Jews are believed to have arrived in the Chomonyn area in the 19th century. Many of the town’s Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. No Jews live in the town today.
