Jewish cemetery in Mochola was recently cleared

Located in Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region, the Jewish cemetery in Mochola was recently cleared of overgrowth as part of our regular maintenance and cleaning work.

Fenced by the ESJF in 2016 with financial support from the Auswärtiges Amt (German Federal Foreign Office), the site contains eight preserved tombstones, with the earliest from 1904 and the latest from 1977.

The protected and maintained cemetery now stands as a clear reminder that the memory of the Jewish community here has not been forgotten.
