The European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, with the funders of the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany and local partners, invites historians, local activists, school teachers, NGOs, and all interested in preserving Jewish cemeteries to a special educational programme.

Travel & Accommodation: for participants from outside of Budapest, travel expenses and one night’s accommodation will be provided
Program includes:
• Lectures about the history and present state of the Hungarian Jewry and the Hungarian Jewish cemeteries
• ESJF’s approach to using Jewish cemeteries as historical sources
• Guided tours of Budapest’s Jewish Quarter, the Dohány Street Synagogue, and the Salgótarjáni Street Jewish cemetery
• Round table discussion on cemetery preservation best practices
