With COVID-19 lockdowns coming into effect across Europe, ESJF is taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our staff. We have closed our head office in Kyiv, and our employees around Europe are now set up to work from home.
We are closely monitoring the situation, but with no clear end to the new restrictions in sight, we have unfortunately needed to postpone our EU-funded ground and drone surveys for the foreseeable future. Although we had completed the majority of our planned surveys prior to these developments, 76 of the sites we were scheduled to visit remain unsurveyed. However, once restrictions lift and it is safe to begin work again, we will survey these missed sites under the framework of our second pilot project.
Moreover, as our first EU-funded pilot project draws to a close, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the final conferences, as well as the photographic exhibition which was previously scheduled to take place in the European Parliament.
While there is nothing to be done about these setbacks, we are focusing on the work which can still be completed and are currently hard at work migrating the remaining educational events in our pilot project to an online format.
We look forward to exploring the possibilities of teaching in this new medium and will provide further updates as work begins.
