The ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative is looking forward to hosting its second EU master class tomorrow on the topic of Jewish cemeteries in Moldovan Cultural Heritage, which will take place in Chișinău, Moldova over two days.
This event is organised in cooperation with the Center for Ethnology of the Institute of Cultural Heritage, which is a national research institute that studies ethnic cultures and art of Moldova. Jewish cemeteries are evidence of the long lasting history of Jewish presence in Moldova. We firmly believe that the involvement of Moldovan historians, museum workers, local activists and other interested parties is crucial for the preservation and protection of cemeteries.
The master-class will take place under funding from the European Commission and in a consortium with the Foundation of Jewish Heritage and Centropa.
