Work has started at the Penyige Jewish Cemetery in Hungary. As the oldest tombstone found in the cemetery is dated 1874, it is thought that the cemetery was established around that year. The latest tombstone was erected in 1924. Today, there are still 9 tombstones standing.
A big thanks our partners, the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Community (MAZSIHISZ-Magyarországi Zsidó Hitközségek Szövetsége) and Maria Bryani from MAZSIHISZ and our national coordinator in Hungary, for supporting us on this project. This work would have not been possible without your help! We look forward to its completion over the next weeks.
