The ESJF is providing humanitarian assistance to the community in Uzhhorod, Zakarpatia, Ukraine, which until now has been the region where the ESJF has fenced the most Jewish cemeteries. In connection with long-standing friendly relations with the city council and the regional council (Ужгородська міська рада), two members of the ESJF team, Alexander Bessarab and Ian Galevskii, have been volunteering and helping wherever possible. This has included organising accommodation, providing plywood to build beds for refugee centres in local schools and sourcing materials for displaced people. While we know that there is lots to be done, we are very proud of our team and what they have managed to achieve! Our hearts are with you as well as our friends and partners in Ukraine.
