Thank You, Kateryna Kryvko

We’d like to introduce you to Kateryna Kryvko, a 16 year-old high school student, who we finally had the pleasure to meet in her home village of Derezhnie. Kate wrote to us about the neglected and abandoned Jewish cemetery in  Derazhnie, how it was a great pity that the cemetery was in such condition after the destruction of the local Jewish community in the Shoah and could we do anything to protect it.

Thanks to Kateryna Kryvko, we have now extended our educational programmes to Derazhnie’s village in Rivne Region and her school and we will of course be protecting the cemetery this year. Here is Kate with ESJF Education Coordinator Natalia Videneeva and ESJF Research and Communications Coordinator Khrystyna Shmatok and also alongside her parents at the Jewish cemetery.
