Surveys in Belarus continue apace

In a little under two weeks of field explorations in Belarus our researchers have already visited close to 100 Jewish cemeteries. We expect to visit around 500 sites before the close of this project. Surveys so far have been in the Minsk, Homel, Grodno and Moghilev regions. The project to survey all the cemeteries of Belarus is a collaborative effort with the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.
