Rededication ceremony held at the recently fenced Jewish cemetery in Verba, Rivne Oblast, Ukraine

The new fence at the Verba Jewish cemetery was erected by the ESJF in April 2017, with the backing of the Federal Republic of Germany, in memory of the Jews from Verba and the surrounding areas murdered during the Shoah. A rededication ceremony was held on May 16th, 2017, attended by brothers Avrom Bendavid-Val and Marvin Bendavid from the United States, who are descendants of the Verba Jewish population and have worked to preserve the cemetery and its graves for many years.

The ceremony was also attended by ESJF Education Projects Coordinator Natalia Videneeva, who has been introducing ESJF’s educational initiatives to local schools.
