Gravestones extracted from the lake and returned to Briceva Jewish Cemetery

Gravestones found in a lake close to the Jewish cemetery in Briceva in northern Moldova have been returned to the cemetery following ESJF’s fencing of the site. The matzevot had been taken over the years from the abandoned cemetery and used as stepping stones by locals. The ESJF completed the fencing at Briceva only last week, our first cemetery completion in Moldova.
