Historical overview
The Jewish cemetery of Ura appears to have been established after 1892, since it does not appear on the cadastral map of that year. It was demolished at an unknown time.
While Jews first settled in Ura at the beginning of the 19th century, the first record concerning the Jewish community dates to 1880 when 9 Jews were recorded as living in the village. The Jewish population eventually increased to 87, though later decreased to 41 by 1930.
