ESJF survey team visits historical Galician cemetery in Nadvirna, in SW Ukraine.

The Old Jewish cemetery in Nadvirna, SW Ukraine was visited by an ESJF survey team this week.

This large Galician cemetery has some of the best preserved and uniquely designed matzevot in the region.

It is the focus of preservation project proposed by Leslie Nolan, a US Peace Corps Volunteer in the region, and a group of descendants of the shtetl who are raising funds for its protection.
