ESJF completes renovation work on the historic Beit Tahara in Chernivtsi (Chernowitz) Jewish Cemetery.

ESJF is proud to announce the completion of the first stage of its renovation works on the Chernivtsi (Chernowitz) Beit Tahara (pre-burial house), originally constructed in 1905.

The work consisted of renovating the dome, windows, and external walls, as well as application of copper cladding to the dome.

This stage of the renovation was made possible by the financial support of Auswärtiges Amt and was accomplished in cooperation with the Association of Jewish Communities and Organizations of Ukraine (VAAD), who will now complete internal renovations and establish the Museum of the Holocaust in Bucovina.
