ESJF launches projects in Romania

ESJF surveyors crossed the Ukrainian border into the Maramores region of Romania yesterday. They will be surveying 11 sites in the Romanian Carpathians with a view to starting some fence construction projects there in the coming weeks and months. This ESJF project is our first foray into saving the Jewish cemeteries of Romania and is in cooperation without local partners, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania (FEDROM)  We were expecting some nice spring weather up here in the Carpathian Mountains but our surveyors were greeted with a sudden flurry of winter weather. Here, the team is at the Jewish cemetery in Borsa (Borsza).
