ESJF announces completion of fencing in Nyzhny Stanivtsi

Fencing is now completed at the Jewish cemetery of Nyzhny Stanivtsi in the Chernivtsi (Chernowitz) oblast of south-western Ukraine.

The project was made possible by ESJF funding provided by the German government and through a very generous donation from Mr. Isaac Meir Berenstein of New York facilitated by our partners in Geder Avos Jewish Heritage Group.

Mr. Berenstein is a descendant of Moshe Tzvi Hager of Stanovitz (1842-1896), a grandson of Menachem Mendel of Kosov, the founder of the Kosov Hassidic dynasty.

This project, completed well into winter, marks the final project of the ESJF this year in the historic region of Bukovina.
