Ceremony marks the fencing at Prague’s Smichov cemetery

A short ceremony was held at Prague’s Smichov Jewish Cemetery on Monday to mark the fencing of the site by the ESJF in collaboration with the Federace židovských obcí v ČR, Philip Carmel ESJF Chief Executive Officer addressed the ceremony, pointing out importance of the work of the ESJF across Central and Eastern Europe, which has now seen 102 sites fenced since 2015.

Also addressing the gathering were Israel’s Ambassador Daniel Meron, Christof Israng, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Czech Republic, and Tomas Kraus, Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic.
