We are pleased to announce that over the past weeks we have installed information plaques at 7 Jewish cemeteries in the Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions in Ukraine including the Zbaragh, Teofipol, Budaniv, Vyshnivets, Staryi Ostropil, Buchach and Leshniv Jewish cemeteries. Most of these Jewish cemeteries were fenced by the ESJF under funding from the Auswärtiges Amt. The others were supported by private donations.
Each plaque provides a historical overview of the local Jewish community prepared by the ESJF’s historical researchers and aims to give visitors an insight into the lives of the communities that once called these places home. We look forward to installing four more of them over the next weeks in Sydilkiv, Talne, Yampil and Slavuta!
